Unfortunately, it feels like they're about to make the same mistake with Zaitsev that they made with Ceci... neither is a "shutdown" player. The idea of having good puck-movement on your blueline (i.e. Chabot, Brannstrom, Zaitsev) is so you can quickly and effectively counter-attack... not so you can hide when the other team puts good players on the ice. I'd prefer to see a bit more concern about having an effective PK, and less about branding certain players with an outdated label. |
